Time Limit/Road Closure
Hwy 128 between mile markers 17 and 30 is closed to traffic from 8 am—12 pm.
There is a time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes (16 min/mile pace).
Due to safety concerns and permitting requirements, Arches Half course will have strictly enforced cutoff times at miles 2, 6, and 10. A pace of 16:00/mile or faster will meet the cutoff times. A cushion of 3 minutes is built into the cutoff times to account for the time it takes a runner at the 10+ min/mile pace signs to cross the starting line after the gun has gone off.
Race Start 8:10 am
Mile 2 Cutoff 35 minutes 16:00/mile pace plus 3 minutes
Mile 6 Cutoff 99 minutes 16:00/mile pace plus 3 minutes
Mile 10 Cutoff 2 hr 43 minutes 16:00/mile pace plus 3 minutes
The 10K course has a time limit of 3 hours and 15 minutes.
If you do not make a cutoff, you MUST board the Sweep Vehicle. Keep in mind course services including aid stations and medical will be discontinued once the Sweep Vehicle comes through. Finish line food and services will be available only to those finishing within the allotted time limit.
Runners still on Hwy 128 after 12 pm are required to catch a ride with the sweep vehicle.
