About Sage Burner Trail Race
Sage Burner Trail Race is hosted in the Hartman Rocks Recreation Area of Gunnison, Colorado. Nearby Black Canyon National Park, the race is true to its name, as the hills are covered in sagebrush. The unique 360 degree views of the Maroon Bells, San Juan Mountains, and the Gunnison Basin, make for a great day out on the trails. The race offers some technical slickrock, some smooth singletrack, and doubletrack for speed. Come check out this fall trail event!

Cupless Aid Station Information
That's right! We have gone cupless!
What does that mean?

Water dispensers will be located at every aid station.

Runners can use these to fill bladders, bottles

Gloved volunteers will pour sodas/misc drinks into runners' reusable cups.

Starts at 7:00 a.m.
Check-in and packet pickup at the starting line
Information Regarding Packet Pickup Process:

You will need to have a photo ID in order to receive your packet.

Runners may pick up the goody bag and shirt of a registered runner, who will not be in attendance.

Runners may not pick up someone else's bib.

Entries are non-transferable

Directions to Start/Finish Line
38°30'20.3"N 106°56'29.1"W
Head West on Hwy 50 from downtown Gunnison and turn left on Gold Basin Road (follow the brown Hartman Rocks signs)
Turn right into the base area for Hartman Rocks Recreation Area (at the big Hartman Rocks sign) there will be event parking starting at 6:45 am on Saturday.
Race Morning Schedule

7:00 a.m. - Packet up and race day registration
8:00 a.m.- 8:10 a.m. - 50K and 28K Races Start*
*A wave start will be implemented to spread runners out along the singletrack. This is done to provide runners with a more enjoyable race experience. We will not assign waves to runners. Runners do not have to inform us of their chosen wave. Choose the wave you feel most comfortable with!*
50K and 28K Wave Options:

Wave 1: 8:00 a.m...expect to finish in the top 33%

Wave 2: 8:05 a.m...expect to finish in the middle 33%
-
Wave 3: 8:10 a.m....expect to finish in the bottom 33%
8:30 a.m.- 13k race start
10 minutes before each race start - Pre-race announcement
RUNNERS MUST ATTACH CHIP TO SHOE. NO CHIP ON SHOE = NO TIME
Finish Line Information
The finish line is located in the exact same location as the starting line. We will be serving runner approved goodies! We'll also have water, soda, etc available.
Runner Perks
All runners will receive a custom race shirt and a finisher's medal.
