Mad Moose Events brings trail running to life in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Ricks Family—once Colorado Springs locals and lifelong outdoor enthusiasts—founded these races to give their hometown something it was missing: high-quality trail and ultra events that celebrated both runners and the landscapes they love. At the time, there were no local trail races like it, so they created a space for their community to gather, challenge themselves, and experience the magic of Colorado Springs' wild terrain together.
Each race explores the rugged beauty of the Front Range, with multiple distances and professionally marked courses designed for all experience levels. From the pine-covered trails of Cheyenne Mountain to sweeping foothill views and challenging climbs, every course reflects the Ricks Family’s deep connection to the area. These events aren’t just about running—they’re about building community in a place the Ricks Family called home.
